It is used to define input variables in the input data files and map them to output fields in forms. You activate the rearrange tool by clicking the **Rearrange** button in the toolbar. ## Create a Rearrange The way that you create a rearrange depends on the form’s input data type. Refer to the information that applies to the form’s input data type: **XML input data (Lasernet Core 11, Lasernet Core 10, and Lasernet Essentials / Professional / Advanced)** Activate the rearrange tool and click an element within the XML input data. The element will be highlighted, and (for most output types) a corresponding field will be added to your form design. However, for XML output (including PDF Form (Filled) output) you must manually drag the rearrange to a node. In the above example, an XML tag named ‘CityName’ has been marked as a rearrange. You can then access the input properties of the rearrange by right-clicking it and choosing **Properties** from the menu. The properties are essentially the same as for non-XML input files, except for the position information which is irrelevant in XML. **Text input data (Lasernet Core 11 and 10 only)** Activate the rearrange tool and select an area in your input data file by drawing a box around the text. The selected area will be highlighted in blue (symbolizing a rearrange), and a corresponding field will be added to your form on the right-hand side of Lasernet Form Editor for the EMF output. For XML output, you must manually drag to a node. ## Rearrange Properties To modify the properties of the new rearrange (for example, to change the font and text size), see [Edit Rearrange Properties](/v1/docs/edit-rearrange-properties). ### Add Input Data to Rich-Text-Based DOCX, PDF, and HTML/XHTML Output **Applies to:** Lasernet Core 11 and 10 (not Lasernet Essentials / Professional / Advanced) For these types of output, you do not create rearranges. Instead, you add fields from the DataSet formatted input to the form design, where they act as mail-merge fields. For instructions, see [Add Fields to Rich-Text-Based DOCX, PDF, and HTML/XHTML Output](/v1/docs/add-input-data-to-a-sheet#add-input-data-to-richtextbased-docx-pdf-and-htmlxhtml-output). ### Add Input Data to XLSX Spreadsheet Output **Applies to:** Lasernet Core 11 and 10 (not Lasernet Essentials / Professional / Advanced) For XLSX spreadsheet output, you do not create rearranges. Instead, you add fields from the DataSet formatted input to the form design, where they act as mail-merge fields. For instructions, see [Add Fields to XLSX Spreadsheet Output](/v1/docs/add-input-data-to-a-sheet#add-fields-to-xlsx-spreadsheet-output). ## Several Patterns Matching the Lines If there are one or more patterns matching the lines you wish to select after clicking the **Rearrange** tool, you can press Shift prior to releasing the mouse (or, for XML input, before clicking the mouse on an XML element). A context menu is then displayed showing all patterns that match the selected line. Select the desired pattern to create a conditional rearrange or select **Sheet** to create an absolute rearrange. ## Instance Qualifiers When you work with conditional rearranges, you can use the **Instance(s) qualifiers** option. It allows you to extend pattern expressions with the ability to specify: 1. All instances (the option is selected by default), 2. First instance, 3. Middle instance(s) which are all non-first and non-last, 4. Last instance, 5. Single instance, which is the only one existing line of the pattern of: 1. All instances of the pattern (the option is selected by default), 2. All consecutive instances of the pattern, 3. All instances of the pattern within a region, 4. All instances of the pattern within a group. > [!NOTE] > Note > > The controls for the **Instance(s) qualifiers** group box are disabled if the settings are already specified for the pattern to which the rearrange(s) belong. > [!NOTE] > Note > > Instance qualifiers are only supported for conditional rearranges added to a pattern. They are not applicable to rearranges added to an absolute fixed position. ## Render XHTML Within Input Data **Applies to:** Lasernet Core 11 and 10 (not Lasernet Essentials / Professional / Advanced) Lasernet Core can read XHTML within input data and render the XHTML in the output. Select the **XHTML** checkbox on the **General** page of the **Edit Rearrange** window. The list of supported tags includes the following: - `h1` to `h6` — headings - `
` — paragraph - `` — hyperlink. For example: `hyperlink text` - `` or `` — bold - `` or `` — italic - `` — underlined - `
` - `
` with `
` to create unordered (bullet) lists. You can also include inline CSS. For example: `
This is bold text.
` Using this capability, Lasernet Core can render a document with headings and formatted text in paragraphs. Lasernet Core 10.12 and later support `rbga` functional CSS notation in XHTML properties. However, the alpha channel is disregarded. ### Numbered Lists Lasernet Core 10.11 and later support `
` tags with `
` tags to create numbered lists. Optionally, you can specify a `type` attribute for an `
` tag to specify the numbering style. The type attribute can have the following values: - `1`: Decimal number - `a`: Lower-case letter - `A`: Upper-case letter - `i`: Lower-case roman numeral - `I`: Lower-case roman numeral If you do not specify `type`, the default style (`1` - decimal number) is used. You can also specify a `start` attribute to specify the starting value for the list. The start attribute has a numeric value. For example: `
` starts a list with the letter `e`. **Example** ```plaintext
