Lasernet FO Connector contains a feature that automatically converts the Lasernet design (patterns and rearranges). This can happen when changing the **Layout** from **Maximum** to **Minimum**, which optimizes performance but requires adjustments to the Lasernet design. Ensure a backup is made of both the report definition (query) in Lasernet FO Connector and the Lasernet design, if the conversion is not working as expected. Converting from **Maximum to Medium**, **Maximum to Minimum****,** and from **Medium to Minimum** are currently supported, but this will be extended in future releases. #### Example Follow these steps when changing the output (XML file) from **Maximum** to **Minimum**: 1. Ensure **Update design** is enabled. To do so, navigate to **Lasernet** > **Setup** > **Parameters** > **Performance** > **TOOLS** > **Update design**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-B75C0CWU.png) 1. Export the report definition (query) in Lasernet FO Connector and the form in Lasernet (it is possible to export multiple forms from Lasernet and import them into Lasernet FO Connector). ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-2UCACRGH.png) 1. Change the **Layout** for the report from **Maximum** to **Minimum** within the Query Wizard (**SalesConfirmReplacement** is used as an example). ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-ZSC6TDDN.png) 1. Run the report to identify patterns and rearranges that are not working as expected. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-FDCG7UIM.png) 1. Import the Lasernet design into Lasernet FO Connector (**Lasernet** > **Reports** > **Update design**). ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-KIFMDF6Q.png) ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-ZX1280LZ.png) 1. Select the required form within the field **Form in file** (required if the file contains multiple designs). ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-C56UY4ZY.png) 1. Click **OK** to prepare a new form that will be imported into Lasernet. This new form/file contains the new patterns and rearranges required for Lasernet Developer. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-9BGC71FM.png) 1. Import the file created in Lasernet FO Connector into Lasernet Developer. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-IW7190QB.png) ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-3YC57F68.png) 1. Use the option **Import, keep both and rename existing object** to ensure the existing form is saved as a backup. 2. Click **Deploy** and then **Patch**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-0QKDBEJE.png) 1. Rerun the report and verify that the proper output is displayed.
