# Default Ranges

The **Default ranges** button in the **Lasernet Keep applications** page enables users to configure default values or ranges for the application run. It can be set for the application or the form link.

The following options for key mapping **Type** are available:

- **Fixed value** enables users to manually enter a value that serves as the default.
- **Current company** uses the legal entity ID as the default value.
- **Current user** uses the user ID as the default value.
- **Relative date** uses the current day (+/-x) as the default value.
- **File name** uses the name of the uploaded file. This is only available for the **Upload** application.

> 
> Default ranges apply for the **Search** application as criteria for documents that need to be retrieved from Keep. Default ranges are overridden if the application is executed from a form link. For the **Upload** type application, default values can be changed in the **Upload** dialog, if the key is marked as **Visible** and **Editable**.
