Install Lasernet Core 11 Software on Clients

Prev Next

Lasernet Developer enables users to create the configurations that Lasernet Core environments run. These configurations include forms, workflows, and connections to a wide range of communication channels, and they define the behavior of the Lasernet Core input or output management solution.

Run the Lasernet Developer installer on each client computer that will be used to run the Lasernet Developer application.

Note

The Lasernet Developer installer does not install the Lasernet Developer application. Instead, it installs a tool (LnLogin) that:

  1. Enables the user to log in to a Lasernet Config Server.

  2. If that Lasernet Config Server requires a version of Lasernet Developer that is not already installed on the client computer, the tool downloads Lasernet Developer from the Lasernet Config Server and installs that version of the software on the client computer.

  3. Enables the user to select a Lasernet Core configuration to work with.

  4. Loads the selected configuration in the appropriate version of Lasernet Developer.

This tool can install a maximum of five versions of Lasernet Developer on a client computer. If the user connects to a Lasernet Config Server that requires a version of Lasernet Developer that is not installed, the oldest installed version is uninstalled, and then the required version is installed.

Steps

To install Lasernet Developer on a client computer, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure that the Lasernet Developer hardware requirements are satisfied.

  2. Copy the Lasernet Developer installer (Lasernet Developer 11.<minor version>.<patch version>.msi) to the client computer.

    Quick Start

If you are following the quick start process, copy the installer to the server and run it there. Example installer name: Lasernet Developer 11.0.0.msi. In the quick start process, all software is installed and run on the server.

  3. Run the Lasernet Developer installer.

    Note

A Microsoft Defender SmartScreen window might appear. The options provided vary depending on your organization’s IT policy. Click Run anyway if that option is available to you.

  4. On the Welcome page, click Next.

  5. Accept the terms of the license agreement, then click Next.

  6. Check that the default installation location is suitable and change it if necessary, then click Next.

  7. On the Ready to Install page, click Install.

  8. After the installation is complete, click Finish.

Next Steps

After installing Lasernet Developer, the next step of the Lasernet Core 11 installation and setup process is to create and configure Lasernet Core environments.

If you are installing only Lasernet Developer (because a Lasernet Core system including environments is already set up and running) and require instructions on how to start and use the application, see the Lasernet Developer Guide.
