This can require access to Azure and Lifecycle Services, so it may be necessary to organize a technical resource to set this up before the installation begins. These steps are common to both hosted and non-hosted customers. ## License Keys Both Lasernet and Lasernet FO Connector require license keys to activate. If you are a hosted customer, the Lasernet license key will be located in your hosted documentation, and your Lasernet Connector license key will have been sent to those in your organization who completed the Lasernet purchase. For non-hosted customers, all the license keys will have been sent to your organization via email. There will be different license keys for different activations: 1. Lasernet Developer: These will begin with “DEV”. 2. Lasernet Server: These will begin with “SRV”. 3. Lasernet Connector: These will be a long string of random characters. Before starting the installation, ensure you have access to the different license keys and can copy and paste them into the appropriate configuration. Note Hosted customers do not need to worry about the server license. To retrieve your license key, contact [Lasernet Support](https://support.lasernetgroup.com/new-ticket) or your reseller, using clear text and providing the name of the **License holder**, the **Serial number**, and the **Number of operations users**. To find the **License holder** and **Serial number information**, follow these steps: 1. Click the **?** drop-down (the question mark icon in the top-right corner of the FO interface). 2. Select the **About** option. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-NHF205XN.png) This window will provide details about your installed product and platform versions. 1. Click the **Licenses** button to view the license holder's name and the product serial number. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-YFC5HUPJ.png) ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-PQJWM6FG.png) ## User Counting Method In Lasernet FO Connector 7.3, **Security Governance** is available as an option to determine the number of users required for the connector’s license. This enables users to switch between the legacy user count and the Security Governance–based count. - **Legacy user count** counts enabled users with Operations licenses (Legacy Microsoft user license method) - **Security Governance** counts enabled users with Base licenses (Newer Microsoft license method) [User security governance license usage summary - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/fin-ops/sysadmin/security-gov-license-usage-summary). The Security Governance method counts distinct users that hold at least one base (non-attach) license in the PPAC-synchronized table LicensingUserDirectLicenseAssignments (ApplicationPlatform, available from PU46 schema). Using **Security Governance** typically reduces the number of users that need to be licensed. Since that does not count external, app and System administrator users. Go to Lasernet > Setup > Parameters, click on License terms and change the **User counting method** from **Count** to **Security Governance.** ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-CRQWP4HU.png) It is only possible to enable this within **Microsoft-hosted (Service Fabric) environments**. Therefore, it cannot be used in on-premises environments, local DEV boxes, or non-Microsoft-hosted environments (non–Service Fabric). It will start and use the following batch job: ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-C9ELTHQN.png) The table behind the batch job can be found at **LACLicenseUserCount** from systablebrowser or **Data explorer.** ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-Q5L6KQKM.png) ### How to see the number of base users in Dynamics F&O. If they have installed LAC they can find the number of required users in Lasernet parameters form ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/base64-converted-image-1786614434428.png) That data comes from the batch job “Lasernet - License user count processing” and the table behind the batch job can be found at **LACLicenseUserCount** from systablebrowser or **Data explorer.** ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-OCTRUNGK.png) ### How to see the number of base users in Power Platform [View license consumption for finance and operations apps - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/view-license-consumption-finops-apps) To access finance and operations consumption metrics, follow these steps: 1. Sign in to [Power Platform admin center](https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/). 2. Select **Licensing** in the left menu. 3. In the **Licensing** pane, under **Products**, select **Finance and Operations** to view **User License Consumption**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-8X3HTVJO.png) ### How to see the number of Operations users in Dynamics F&O The number of **Operations users** can be obtained from the **SysUserLicenseCount** table, **ActualCount** field. This table is updated when the batch job **Named user license count reports processing** is run. You can retrieve this information using the table browser by adding mi=systablebrowser&tablename=sysuserlicensecount to the Dynamics365 Finance and Operations URL. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-Z9PMCEQ6.png) ## Lasernet Connector Package Regardless of whether the Lasernet Group hosts your Lasernet instance, you still need to install the Lasernet Connector package in your Finance and Operations environment.
