Therefore, you need to add the proper settings to control inheritance. Among other possibilities, you can use the [Parameters](/v1/docs/parameters-cloud-print-connector) page (**Lasernet** > **Cloud print connector setup** > **Parameters**). For sharing printers, use the **Global printer sharing** drop-down combo box. It proposes to choose among the following three options: ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-G9JH0KW8.png) - **Inherit**: Printers are inherited from the level above. It does not make sense here as a global parameter since this is the highest level. - **Share**: Printers are shared between users. - **Do not share**: Printers are not shared between users. The following is an overview of how you can control printer sharing between users by setting the same parameters in different locations in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. The settings are inherited and come into effect in the following order (the lowest order number has the highest priority and is the most significant): 1. **Lasernet** > **Cloud print connector setup** > **Parameters** (the highest priority). ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-XV4UC9HJ.png) If it is set to **Do not share**, no printers can be shared. If it is set to **Share**, it is possible to determine whether a printer is shared. 1. **Lasernet** > **Cloud print connector setup** > **User setup** (the second highest priority). ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-G18C44YI.png) If **Inherit** is used, parameters from the previous settings (1 and 2) are applied. If it is set to **Do not share**, no printers can be shared for this user/Azure connector ID. If it is set to **Share**, you can tell whether a printer is shared on the **Printers** page. Note Remember that the same user can have more Azure connector IDs. 1. **Lasernet** > **Setup** > **Lists** > **Printers** (the lowest priority). ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c831ef63-c6b3-48ee-b443-3e33644e4e2e/Images/Documentation/image-Z9E8WY0B.png) If **Inherit** is used, parameters from the previous settings (1, 2, and 3) are applied. The current setting has the lowest priority. That is why a printer can be shared if the settings of the higher priorities are defined as **Share**. If the settings of the higher priorities are defined as **Share**, it is also possible not to share a printer. A warning message is shown if **Share** is selected at a higher level and **Do not share** is set at a lower level: > [!WARNING] > Warning > > Be aware that sharing this connector will not take effect because sharing has been disabled on a higher level.
