Overview
Standard Dynamics 365 FO provides a simulator for the Warehouse mobile device app that uses the same functionality as the Warehouse mobile device app, but runs in the normal Dynamics 365 FO browser session. This simulator can be used for testing purposes.
The Warehouse management mobile app simulator is started by entering a URL into the browser. For example, this menu item (mi=action:WHSWorkExecute) is added as a suffix to the FO environment URL: https://DynamicsEnvironment/?cmp=ABCD&mi=action:WHSWorkExecute.
The separate URL for starting the simulator means that the Task recorder and, therefore, UX tests cannot be created for the processes performed in the Warehouse mobile device app simulator.
However, the Test and Performance Suite provides a way to open the mobile app simulator by navigating to Lasernet > Test and performance suite > Mobile > Work process.
The main advantage is that it allows users to use the Task recorder and UX test with the Warehouse Management mobile app.
