# Fix Reports Pre-Installation

## Access Rights

When trying to fix a report before completing the setup detailed in this section, the following error occurs:

Error

System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The permissions granted to user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE' are insufficient for performing this operation. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: The permission granted to user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE' are insufficient for performing this operation...

The following steps can be used to correct access rights:

- Ensure that the NETWORK SERVICE account has **Write** permissions to the `PackagesLocalDirectory` file path and its subfolders. You may need to add NETWORK SERVICE to the **Security** tab by following these steps:

1. Log in to the Dynamics server, open a file directory, navigate to the `(K:)` drive, and open the `AosService` folder.

1. Right-click the `PackagesLocalDirectory` folder, then click **Properties**.
2. Open the **Security** tab, then click **Edit**.

1. Click **Add**.
2. Add **NETWORK SERVICE**, then click **OK**.
3. Select **NETWORK SERVICE** and ensure the **Write** checkbox is selected.
4. Click **OK**.

1. Click **OK**.

- Ensure that **NETWORK SERVICE** has the **Browser** and **Publisher** roles for the `Dynamics` folder in the Report Server Configuration Manager. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Open the **Server Manager** application.

1. Enter the **Server Name** if it has not defaulted to the field.
2. Click **Connect**.

1. Open the **Web Portal URL** tab.
2. Click **Apply**.

1. Click the **URL**.

Your internet browser will open (you may experience problems with Internet Explorer and want to choose an alternative browser, such as Edge).

1. Click the **Manage folder** icon from the top menu.

1. Click **Add group or user**.

1. Enter “NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE” in the **Group or user** field.
2. Select **Browser**, then click **OK**.

The **NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE** has now been given the **Browser** security role.

1. Click **SQL Server Reporting Services** to go back to the **Home** folder.

1. Click the **…** (three dots) button on the **Dynamics** folder.

1. Click **Manage**.

1. Click **Edit** on **NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE** to add another role.

1. Select the **Publisher** role, then click **Apply**.

**NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE** now has the **Publisher** role.
