Introduction
This page provides the minimum and recommended software and hardware requirements to successfully install and use Autoform DM.
Hardware
Standalone Deployment
Note
These are the minimum requirements for running an Autoform DM server.
We recommend that you install Autoform DM on a Virtual Machine (VM).

We recommend a separate SQL database server.
Note
We recommend a Storage Area Network (SAN) server for archived documents, sized to specific requirements. Typical storage ratios are 10,000–50,000 per GB for scanned documents and 30,000–90,000 per GB for documents generated by Lasernet.
A minimum of 100 GB space is recommended, which should be monitored and scaled according to usage as more data enters the system over time.

Clustered Deployment
Domain Controller
The domain controller is the main point of configuration for the cluster.

Host Controller
Host controllers are the slaves of the cluster. They are configured to connect to the domain controller and function as one of the following:
Load Balancer: Manages user traffic and passes it on to the application nodes.
Application: The application nodes serving users. In this case, Autoform DM.

Software
Prerequisite software (operating system, database, and JRE) must be present on the Autoform DM server.
A supported web browser must be present on client computers.
The Autoform DM Compatibility Matrix page describes what prerequisite software is required, and indicates which versions of this prerequisite software are supported for each Autoform DM version. Unless stated otherwise, the Lasernet Group recommends that you install the latest supported prerequisite software.
Note
These are third-party dependencies that might each carry an additional cost to acquire the software.
Ensure that appropriate licenses for all prerequisite software have been acquired.
